2021-2025 Land Rover Discovery vehicles recalled due to rearview camera visibility risk

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2025 Land Rover Discovery vehicles because insufficient drain holes may cause rearview camera damage, reducing driver visibility.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a safety-critical component (rearview camera) where a defect increases the risk of a crash, but no injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Plain-English summary

Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2025 Land Rover Discovery vehicles. The recall is due to insufficient drain holes in the underside of the tailgate trim, which may prevent water from draining away from the rearview camera. This can result in damage to the camera.

A malfunctioning rearview camera may fail to display an image, which can decrease driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles include certain 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Land Rover Discovery models. To remedy this, dealers will drill additional drain holes in the underside of the tailgate trim and inspect and replace the rearview camera if necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge.

Owners may contact Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 for more information. Land Rover's recall number is D145.
