What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (window retention) that explicitly increases the risk of ejection and injury during a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling certain Ricon hidden frame windows sold through Prevost Parts and Prevost Service Center. The recall addresses a defect where inadequate adhesion around the window frame may cause the glass to detach. As a result, these windows fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

The defect increases the risk of ejection and injury during a crash if the glass falls out of the frame. Additionally, detached window glass can become a road hazard for other vehicles, potentially increasing the risk of a crash.

Nova Bus will inspect and replace the windows as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-450-472-6410. The recall number is ER26501, and affected Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning June 8, 2026.
