Commercial trucks recalled for defective steering tie rod assembly
Daimler Trucks is recalling commercial trucks and buses with defective tie rod assemblies that may cause loss of steering control. Dealers will inspect and replace them free of charge.

Plain-English summary
Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain commercial vehicles manufactured from 2024 to 2026, including various Freightliner, Western Star, FCCC, Thomas Built Buses, and other models. The steering tie rod assembly may have improper installation of the castle nut and cotter pin.
If the tie rod is not properly installed, the affected vehicle may lose steering control, increasing the risk of a crash. Approximately 343 vehicles are affected.
Owners of affected vehicles were notified by mail on November 10, 2025. DTNA dealers will inspect the tie rod assembly and replace it if necessary, at no cost to the owner. Owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to arrange service. DTNA's reference number for this recall is D25R2.
