What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a structural vehicle defect affecting the park pawl mechanism, a critical safety system. The loss of park function can result in vehicle rollaway and crash risk. Although no injuries have been reported, the defect in a core safety system qualifies as a structural vehicle defect, justifying a Severe classification.
Plain-English summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Jeep Wagoneer S and 2024-2025 Dodge Charger electric vehicles. An incorrectly installed spring in the park pawl mechanism may cause the loss of the park function when the vehicle's gear selector is placed in the park (P) position. This can result in vehicle rollaway, increasing the risk of crashes.
The recalled vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 114, which establishes requirements for theft protection and rollaway prevention. A total of 75 vehicles are affected. Owners began receiving notification letters in September 2025.
Dealers will replace the electric drive module free of charge. Contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 for additional information or to schedule service. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) for recalled vehicles can be searched on NHTSA.gov.
