Freightliner Business Class M2 Steering Shaft Detachment Risk
Fontaine Modification is recalling 2022–2024 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles because welds on the intermediate steering shaft may crack and fail, causing loss of steering control and crash risk.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect affecting the steering system that directly impairs vehicle control and poses significant crash risk. While no injuries or deaths are reported in the source, loss of steering is a critical safety failure that meets the "Severe" threshold for structural vehicle defects.
Plain-English summary
