2022-2024 Audi Q5 cylinder head cover screws may loosen causing oil leaks
Audi is recalling certain 2022-2024 Q5 and Q5 Sportback vehicles because cylinder head cover screws may loosen, allowing oil to leak and creating a fire risk. Dealers will inspect and replace screws for free.

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Q5 and Q5 Sportback vehicles. The cylinder head cover screws on these vehicles may have been improperly tightened during manufacturing.
The improperly tightened screws can loosen during vehicle operation. When the screws loosen, oil can leak from the engine. An oil leak increases the risk of fire.
Approximately 89,417 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 5, 2025.
Owners should contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834 to schedule a remedy appointment. Dealers will inspect and replace the screws as necessary, free of charge.
