2024 Ford Ranger power windows fail to reverse on object detection
Ford is recalling certain 2024 Rangers where the power windows may not automatically reverse after detecting an object when using the global closing feature. This increases the risk of windows pinching or crushing occupants.

Plain-English summary
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024 Ford Rangers and 2024 Lincoln Nautilus vehicles that were previously repaired under recall number 24V-597. These vehicles have a defect in the power window system.
When the global closing feature is used, the windows may not automatically reverse after detecting an object in their path. This violates the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 118, which governs power-operated window systems.
As a result, a closing window may exert excessive force and pinch or crush a driver or passenger before retracting, increasing the risk of injury. The recall affects approximately 1,177 vehicles.
Ford will remedy this issue by updating the driver door module and passenger door module software at no cost to owners. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 15, 2025. Owners can contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 for more information.
