Volkswagen ID. Buzz brake warning light may use the wrong symbol

Volkswagen is recalling certain 2025 ID. Buzz vehicles because the brake system warning light may display the incorrect symbol and colour, failing FMVSS 135 and 101.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems," and 101. According to NHTSA, an incorrectly displayed warning light can fail to alert the driver to critical safety information, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the instrument panel software free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 6, 2025.
