2025 Cadillac Lyriq Recall: Inaccurate Owner Manual for Head Restraints
General Motors is recalling 2025 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles for inaccurate owner's manual descriptions of rear head restraints. Incorrect manual information may lead to improper adjustment and increased crash injury risk.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves inaccurate labeling in the owner's manual for a safety-critical component. With no reported injuries or deaths and a theoretical hazard contingent on user behavior, it qualifies as a minor labeling error meeting the Moderate classification threshold.
Plain-English summary
General Motors is recalling certain 2025 Cadillac Lyriq vehicles due to inaccurate descriptions of the rear outboard head restraints in the owner's manual.
The manual's incorrect illustrations and descriptions do not accurately depict how the head restraints should be positioned and adjusted. As a result, owners may improperly adjust the head restraints based on the inaccurate manual information. This failure to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 202, "Head Restraints," increases the risk of injury in a crash if restraints are not properly positioned.
This recall affects 10,643 vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 30, 2025. General Motors will mail corrected owner's manual inserts at no cost to owners.
