Kenworth and Peterbilt Trucks Recalled for Insufficient Axle Bearing Lubrication
PACCAR is recalling 2024-2025 Kenworth and Peterbilt commercial trucks with insufficient axle bearing lubrication, which may cause wheel hub overheating and fire or loss of vehicle control.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The source text does not report any illnesses, injuries, or deaths, and the hazards are potential rather than confirmed. Per the severity rubric, when hazards are theoretical with no reported incidents, the maximum score is 3. However, the critical safety function of wheel bearings on commercial vehicles and the serious potential consequences (fire, crash risk) justify a High rating.
