Nova Bus control unit software crash can cut drive power

Nova Bus is recalling certain 2022-2023 LFS buses because a software error may cause the Vehicle Control Unit to crash, disconnecting the high voltage batteries and causing a loss of drive power.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: the fault disconnects the high voltage batteries and produces a total loss of drive power in a passenger bus, not a degraded function.
