Plain-English summary

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 Nova Bus LFS transit buses. The high voltage traction batteries in these vehicles may contain loose hardware that can fall into the battery pack.

If loose hardware falls into the battery pack, it can create a short circuit. A short circuit in the high voltage battery system increases the risk of fire.

Approximately 24 units are affected. Nova Bus will replace the affected batteries free of charge. The manufacturer mailed notification letters on June 5, 2025, and will send a second letter once replacement batteries are available. Owners should contact Nova Bus customer service at 800-350-6682 (recall number CR5687) to schedule their battery replacement. For additional information, owners may contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY: 888-275-9171) or visit nhtsa.gov.
