2022-2023 Nova Bus LFS Electric Bus Recalled for Battery Coolant Line Defect

Nova Bus (US) Inc. is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 model LFS battery electric transit buses. The high voltage battery pack contains a coolant line that may not be fully seated and locked. If the coolant line is not properly secured, it can result in the loss of coolant and an electrical short circuit.

A battery short circuit may increase the risk of fire in the vehicle. Approximately 7 vehicles are potentially affected by this defect.

Owner notification letters were mailed on May 23, 2023. Nova Bus, in coordination with Akasol (the battery pack manufacturer), will inspect the affected battery packs and replace them as necessary at no cost to owners. Owners should contact Nova Bus customer service at 1-800-350-6682 with questions.
