Plain-English summary
Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2024 Bronco Sport vehicles because the body control module and powertrain control module may fail to detect changes in the 12-volt battery state of charge.
When the control modules do not detect a low battery charge, drivers may experience a loss of electrical accessories such as hazard lights or loss of drive power. Either condition increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
Approximately 76 vehicles are affected. Ford mailed owner notification letters on October 23, 2024. Note that vehicles previously recalled for the same issue under campaign 24V-267 will need the new software remedy.
Owners should have dealers install the free software update to both control modules. Contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332 or visit your local dealer. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-888-327-4236 or www.nhtsa.gov.
