The front axle tie rod assembly may contain ball studs that have been incorrectly heat-treated during manufacturing.
These incorrectly heat-treated ball studs can break, causing the tie rod to fail. Tie rod failure can result in complete loss of vehicle steering control, significantly increasing the risk of a crash. Approximately 3,799 vehicles are affected by this defect.
Owners received notification letters on September 27, 2024. DTNA dealers will inspect and replace the tie rod assembly at no cost to the vehicle owner.
