Hyundai and Genesis fuel pump defect may cause loss of power
Hyundai and Genesis are recalling 2019-2023 vehicles because the fuel pump may fail, causing loss of drive power and increasing crash risk. Dealers will update engine software and inspect/replace the fuel pump as needed.

Hyundai Motor America is recalling multiple model years of the Hyundai Veloster N, Genesis G70, Hyundai Elantra N, and Hyundai Kona N vehicles manufactured from 2019 to 2023. The fuel pump may fail, which can result in a loss of drive power while the vehicle is in operation.
A loss of drive power can increase the risk of a crash. The defect affects approximately 54,647 vehicles.
If you own one of these vehicles, contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460 to schedule service. Dealers will update your vehicle's engine control module software at no cost. In addition, dealers will inspect and replace the fuel pump assembly if necessary. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning September 9, 2024.
