Plain-English summary
Cruiser RV is recalling certain 2023-2024 Avenir trailers. The recall addresses a defect where the Federal Certification labels are missing the tire size and correct PSI (pounds per square inch) information. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars."
The missing information creates a safety risk because incorrect tire size data could lead to the wrong tires being installed. Additionally, incorrect PSI information could cause tires to be over- or under-inflated. Both scenarios increase the risk of a crash.
Owners of affected vehicles will receive notification letters mailed on May 2, 2024. Cruiser will mail new certification labels to owners free of charge. Owners may also contact Cruiser customer service at 1-574-562-3500 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
