An intermittent electrical connection in the steering column torque sensor can cause the power steering assist to fail. When power steering assist is disabled, drivers will experience increased steering effort, particularly at low speeds, which increases the risk of losing vehicle control and being involved in a crash.
Approximately 11,824 vehicles are affected by this recall. Owners will receive notification letters beginning September 8, 2023. Dealers will inspect the steering column torque sensor and replace the steering column assembly if necessary, free of charge.
