Pleasure Way motorhomes recalled for fuel hose fire risk

Pleasure Way is recalling certain 2021-2023 OnTour and Lexor motorhomes due to fuel hose defects that may cause gasoline leaks and fire risk. Dealers will inspect and replace fuel hoses free of charge.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This recall addresses a fuel system defect with potential for fire, which is a serious hazard. However, no fires, injuries, or deaths have been reported, qualifying it as Score 3 per the rubric: risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

Pleasure Way Industries is recalling certain 2021-2023 OnTour and Lexor motorhomes equipped with specific Cummins Onan QG 2800i or Onan QG 2800i EVAP generator sets. The fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and injection pump module may have inadequate clamp force.

The defect may result in a gasoline leak. A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of fire.

Approximately 514 motorhomes are affected. Owners were notified by mail on August 11, 2023. The remedy is free inspection and replacement of the fuel hose and clamps as necessary by authorized dealers.

Owners should contact Pleasure Way customer service at 1-800-364-0189, or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
