2021–2022 Pleasure Way Motorhomes Recalled for Mislabeled Electrical Circuit Board

Pleasure Way is recalling 2021–2022 Rekon, Tofino, Ascent, Plateau, and Ontour motorhomes due to a mislabeled DCF4 circuit board. The board is labeled for 30 amps but has pins rated for only 20 amps, creating a fire risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a fire-risk hazard from electrical overheating or melting, but no injuries, property damage, or fires have been reported. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

Pleasure Way Industries, Ltd. is recalling certain 2021 and 2022 model year Rekon, Tofino, Ascent, Plateau, and Ontour motorhomes due to an electrical circuit board labeling defect. The DCF4 circuit board is labeled to handle 30 amps, but the fuse holder pins are rated for only 20 amps.

This mismatch between the label rating and the actual pin rating can cause the fuse or wiring to overheat or melt. Overheating or melting increases the risk of fire.

Approximately 1,237 motorhomes are affected. Owners were notified by mail in September 2022. Dealers will relabel the DCF4 circuit board free of charge. Owners should contact Pleasure Way customer service at 1-800-364-0189 to schedule the relabeling, or contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
