2023 Cadillac Lyriq Battery Connection Defect May Cause Loss of Drive Power

General Motors, LLC is recalling certain 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and 2022 GMC Hummer EV vehicles due to a defect in the high-voltage battery pack. Certain connections within the battery pack may be out of position or incorrectly welded, which can cause a loss of drive power and increase the risk of a crash.

Approximately 33 vehicles are potentially affected by this defect. Owners received initial notification letters on June 6, 2023, with follow-up safety explanation letters sent on January 5, 2024.

To remedy this issue, authorized General Motors dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery pack at no cost to the owner. Owners can contact GM Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or the EV Concierge line at 1-833-HUMMER-EV (1-833-486-6373) to schedule service.
