Nissan Rogue Driver Seat Weld Safety Defect Recall
The driver's powered seat may not be fully secured due to weld defects in the seat frame, potentially failing to properly restrain occupants during a crash. Nissan will inspect and replace affected seat components at no cost.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural safety defect of the driver's seat involving frame welds that may detach, preventing proper occupant restraint during a crash. No injuries have been reported, making this a risk-of-harm scenario without documented harm.
Plain-English summary
Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling approximately 12,400 certain 2023 model year Nissan Rogue, Nissan Pathfinder, and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. In these vehicles, the driver's powered seat may not be fully secured to the seat frame. The seat frame welds may detach from the rear inboard seat bracket, preventing the seat from being properly secured.
If the driver's seat is not properly secured to the seat frame, it may not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Owners will receive notification letters that were expected to be mailed June 10, 2023. Nissan dealerships will conduct a free inspection of the driver's seat rail clearance and replace the driver's seat cushion frame if necessary, at no cost. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 with questions. The recall is identified by Nissan numbers PC966 and PC967.
