Commercial trucks recalled for incorrect gross axle weight labels

Plain-English summary
Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2020-2023 Freightliner and Western Star commercial trucks. The Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) label on the Federal Certification Label is incorrect. This labeling error can allow vehicles to be loaded beyond their safe weight capacity, which increases the risk of crashes.
The recall affects approximately 185 vehicles. Owners were notified by mail on July 14, 2022.
Daimler Trucks will replace the GAWR labels free of charge. Owners should contact Daimler customer service at 1-800-547-0712 to schedule their repair.
