Daimler Vans USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 1500, 2500, 3500, and 4500 vehicles. The gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) may be improperly stated on the tire and loading label, causing these vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims-Other Than Passenger Cars."
The incorrect labeling may lead operators to overload the vehicle, which can result in excessive tire wear and increase the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the tire and loading information label as necessary. Additionally, tires will be inspected for excessive wear and replaced if needed. All repairs will be conducted free of charge.
