Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC is recalling certain 2021 Mallard and North Trail recreational trailers. The refrigerator roof vents were not routed properly during production, which may cause the refrigerator to overheat and increase the risk of fire. Additionally, exhaust gas can become trapped inside the vehicle, creating a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning that could result in serious injury or death.

Approximately 649 units are affected. Owners who received notification letters (mailed August 31, 2021) should contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032 or their dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. Dealers will inspect the roof vent and repair the vent sleeve connection if necessary at no cost.
