Heartland Recalls 2024 Eddie Bauer Travel Trailers for Incorrect Tire Placards

Heartland is recalling 2024 Eddie Bauer travel trailers because tire placards list the wrong tire size. This labeling error could lead to incorrect tire installation and increased crash risk.

What this means for you

Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Our severity reasoning: The recall addresses a labeling error that creates a risk of harm through incorrect tire installation, but no injuries or crashes have been reported, fitting the criteria for moderate severity.

Plain-English summary

Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC is recalling certain 2024 Eddie Bauer travel trailers. The recall addresses a defect where the tire placards indicate an incorrect tire size. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 120, "Wheels and Rims - Other Than Passenger Cars."

The incorrect tire size information on the placards can allow the installation of incorrect tires on the trailer. This increases the risk of a crash.

Heartland will mail out replacement certification labels free of charge to correct the issue. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 14, 2024. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
