The software in this module may cause the rearview camera image to fail to display. This violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 111, which requires adequate rear visibility.

The defect affects an estimated 14,096 vehicles. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 24, 2021.

A rearview camera that does not display reduces the driver's ability to see what is behind the vehicle. This increases the risk of crashes and injuries when backing up or reversing.
