If the connecting screws are not properly tightened, hot exhaust gases may leak from the EGR pipe, which increases the risk of a fire. The recall began on May 4, 2020, following an interim notification issued to owners on April 6, 2020.

Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter dealers will renew the screw connection and the flange seals on the exhaust gas recirculation pipe free of charge.
