Porsche Cars North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2020 911 Carrera S Coupe, Cabrio, Coupe, 4 Coupe, 4S Coupe, 4 Cabrio, 4S Cabrio, and S Cabrio vehicles. The recall addresses a software error that may cause the hazard warning lights to fail to function when activated by the operator. As a result, these vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
If the hazard warning lights cannot be activated, there is an increased risk of a crash in a hazard situation. The recall began on February 7, 2020.
Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the control unit free of charge. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AKC1.
