What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where a crash is possible due to a reversed camera image, but no specific injuries or fatalities are reported in the source text.
Plain-English summary
REV Ambulance Group Orlando, Inc. is recalling certain 2018-2019 Road Rescue Ultramedic emergency vehicles. These vehicles are equipped with ASA Electronics backup camera displays that were previously recalled under campaign 19E-009.
The defect involves the backup camera displays potentially reverting to factory default settings. This issue may cause the camera image to appear reversed. If the image is reversed, the driver may inadvertently turn the wrong direction to avoid an object behind the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash.
REV has notified owners, and dealers will install a harness relay capacitor module to prevent the image from reversing, free of charge. The recall began on April 17, 2019. Owners may contact REV customer service at 1-855-661-9232 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
