Double K Inc. is recalling certain 2017-2018 Hometown Trolley Villager, Mainstreet, and Streetcar trackless trolley buses. These vehicles were built on a Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) Freightliner chassis. The recall addresses a defect where the brake caliper mounting bolts may have been insufficiently tightened.
Loose brake caliper mounting bolts can reduce brake effectiveness, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall began on February 11, 2019. Double K will notify owners and instruct them to contact a DTNA dealer to have the bolts checked and tightened free of charge.
