Plain-English summary

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Freightliner Custom Chassis (FCCC) XCS motorhome chassis. The recall involves vehicles equipped with wheels that have Freightliner-logo shaped holes. These specific wheels feature a valve stem stabilizer that may dislodge and damage the valve stem.

Damage to the valve stem can result in a loss of air pressure in the inner tire. This loss of pressure can cause an overload of the outer tire, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall began on July 31, 2018.

DTNA will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inner wheel valve stem stabilizer and replace it if necessary, free of charge. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-764. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
