Jayco Eagle Travel Trailer Recalled for Incorrect Weight Rating Label

Jayco, Inc. is recalling certain 2018 Eagle TT 330RSTS recreational trailers. The Federal Placard on these vehicles incorrectly lists the Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) capacity as 5,800 lbs, whereas the axles actually have a capacity of 5,660 lbs. This discrepancy means the vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."
The incorrect GAWR labeling may result in the vehicle being overloaded, which can cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. The recall affects 88 units of the 2018 model year.
Jayco will notify owners, and dealers will provide new Federal ID labels with the correct GAWR free of charge. The recall began on June 1, 2017. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
