Plain-English summary
Spartan Motors USA is recalling certain model year 2017 Spartan Specialty Vehicle K2 and K3 vehicles manufactured between March 24, 2016, and August 31, 2016. The recall affects 245 vehicles.
The throttle circuit wires on the affected vehicles may not have been twisted to cancel out electromagnetic interference. This interference may cause the throttle signal to be higher or lower than intended, which can result in unintended deceleration or acceleration and increase the risk of a crash.
Spartan will notify owners, and dealers will install an overlay harness with twisted wires free of charge. The recall began on November 3, 2016. Owners may contact Spartan customer service at 1-800-543-5277 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
