Starcraft RV Recalls AR-ONE Maxx Trailers for Incorrect Tire Labeling

Starcraft RV is recalling 2016-2017 AR-ONE Maxx travel trailers and fifth wheels because incorrect tire labels may lead to improper tire replacement.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where incorrect tire replacement could affect handling and increase crash risk, but no injuries or illnesses have been reported.

Plain-English summary

Starcraft RV is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 AR-ONE Maxx travel trailers and fifth wheels manufactured between May 4, 2015, and June 27, 2016. The affected vehicles may be equipped with a Federal Label containing incorrect tire information. This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

If an owner replaces a tire using the incorrect information on the label, they may install a tire of the wrong size. Installing an incorrect tire size can affect vehicle handling, which increases the risk of a crash.

Starcraft will notify owners, and dealers will install a corrected Federal and Tire label free of charge. The recall began on August 5, 2016. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
