Starcraft AR-One Toy Hauler Recall for Incorrect Tire Labels

Starcraft is recalling 2016 AR-One toy hauler trailers because incorrect tire labels may lead to improper tire replacement, increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, as the defect could lead to tire failure or adverse handling, increasing crash risk.

Plain-English summary

Starcraft RV is recalling certain model year 2016 AR-One toy hauler trailers, model 17XTH, manufactured from October 28, 2015, through January 19, 2016. The affected trailers may be equipped with labels that indicate incorrect tire size and tire inflation information. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other than Passenger Cars."

If tires are replaced with ones of an incorrect size and pressure due to the mislabeling, the handling of the trailer may be adversely affected or tire failure may occur. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

Starcraft will notify owners and mail them corrected labels free of charge. The recall began on February 22, 2016. Owners may contact Starcraft customer service at 1-800-945-4787.
