Plain-English summary
Allied Recreation Group, Inc. (ARG) is recalling certain model year 2016 Fleetwood Southwind 34A, 36L, and 32VS motorhomes. These vehicles are equipped with Atwood Model 0D50 on-demand water heaters that have a gas valve defect.
The defect may cause the water heater to overheat the water in the hot water supply tap. This overheating can result in the release of steam, which may cause the operator to scald themselves and increases the risk of injury.
The recall began on January 27, 2016. ARG will notify owners, and Atwood will provide a remedy for the hot water heater free of charge. Owners may contact ARG customer service at 1-800-509-3417 or Atwood customer service at 1-574-264-2131. Owners may also contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
