Plain-English summary
Navistar, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 International Durastar trucks, 2011-2012 International Workstar trucks, and 2010-2014 IC Bus HC transit buses. The recall covers a total of 29,182 vehicles manufactured between May 13, 2009, and June 24, 2013, depending on the specific model.
The affected vehicles may have an improperly routed engine grid heater power feed cable. This defect allows the cable to contact the metal edge of the cab, which can result in an electrical short and increase the risk of a fire.
Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will secure the power feed cable so that it cannot contact the cab, free of charge. The recall began on August 3, 2015. Owners may contact Navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
