Heartland Recreational Vehicles, LLC is recalling certain model year 2016 Torque T27, T28, T29, and T33 travel trailers. These vehicles were manufactured between May 11, 2015, and May 29, 2015. The recall involves 34 units.
The affected trailers have Federal Certification labels that may be missing the gross axle weight rating (GAWR) information. This defect causes the vehicles to fail to comply with 49 CFR Part 567, "Certification." Without this information, vehicle operators may unintentionally overload the trailer, which increases the risk of a vehicle crash.
Heartland will notify owners, and dealers will replace the incorrect certification label with a corrected label free of charge. The recall began on July 29, 2015. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 1-877-262-8032 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
