Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Plain-English summary
General Motors LLC is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles manufactured between October 24, 2011, and March 5, 2015. The recall involves the sun/moon roof assembly where the Slide or Tilt switch for the roof panel may not be adequately recessed. This design flaw allows the switch to be pressed inadvertently, causing the vehicle to fail compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 118 regarding power-operated roof panel systems.
The defect increases the risk of a pinch injury if the roof panel auto-closes unexpectedly. General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will update the Body Control Module (BCM) software to remove the auto-close feature for certain switch positions at no charge. The recall began on April 21, 2015.
Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236. GM's number for this recall is 15176.
