GM Recalls 2006-2007 Chevrolet and Pontiac Vehicles for Steering Defect

The defect involves a potential sudden loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist at any time while driving. If the assist is lost, the driver must exert significantly more effort to steer the vehicle, particularly at low speeds. This increased steering effort raises the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the torque sensor assembly free of charge. The recall began on February 24, 2015.
