Hyundai Recalls Elantra Touring Vehicles Due to Headliner Bracket Hazard

Hyundai Motor Company is recalling approximately 35,000 model year 2010-2012 Elantra Touring vehicles manufactured between December 15, 2009, and May 7, 2012. The recall addresses a defect where a support bracket attached to the headliner may become displaced during the deployment of a side curtain airbag.
If the displaced headliner support bracket makes contact with an occupant during a crash, it may cause a laceration injury. This hazard is specific to the interaction between the bracket and the airbag deployment process in the affected vehicles.
