What this means for you

Plain-English summary
Hyundai Motor Company is recalling certain model year 2015 Sonata vehicles manufactured between April 25, 2014, and June 16, 2014. The recall involves 16,900 vehicles affected by a manufacturing error that may cause one or both front brake calipers to fracture.
If a brake caliper fractures, brake effectiveness is reduced, which lengthens the distance required to stop the vehicle and increases the risk of a crash. Hyundai contacted affected owners on June 19, 2014, and instructed them not to drive their vehicles.
Hyundai dealers will replace the affected brake calipers free of charge. The recall began on September 12, 2014. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
