The recall covers Sonata vehicles manufactured between May 28, 2014, and March 18, 2016, and Sonata Hybrid vehicles manufactured between December 8, 2014, and August 18, 2015. A total of 62,811 vehicles are affected by this recall.

The defect involves a bonding issue with the sunroof wind deflector. Due to this issue, the sunroof panel may detach from the vehicle while driving. If the sunroof detaches, it could become a road hazard, which increases the risk of a crash.

Hyundai will notify owners, and dealers will repair the wind deflector anchor plate free of charge. The recall began in December 2016. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-800-633-5151.
