Plain-English summary
Carefree of Colorado is recalling certain Latitude Awnings styles GX and G that were manufactured between April 10, 2014, and November 4, 2014. These awnings were supplied as original equipment to various vehicle manufacturers for use in new motorhomes.
The recall is due to screws that attach the lateral arm brackets to the mounting brackets, which may not have been manufactured to specification. If these screws fail, the supporting bracket could fail, causing the awning to fall and potentially strike and injure a person beneath it.
Owners will be notified by their vehicle manufacturer with instructions on how to obtain the free remedy. Owners should contact their vehicle manufacturer for more information or reach out to Carefree customer service at 1-800-621-2617.
