Starcraft Recalls 2014 16BH AR-ONE Trailers Due to Tire Load Range Defect

Starcraft is recalling 2014 16BH AR-ONE trailers because they were built with tires of a lower load range than required, which may fail if loaded to capacity.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a structural vehicle defect (tires with insufficient load range) that may suddenly fail and increase the risk of a crash, meeting the criteria for a Severe rating.

Plain-English summary

Starcraft RV, Inc. is recalling certain model year 2014 16BH AR-ONE trailers manufactured between June 3, 2013, and September 30, 2013. The recall involves 26 units that were built with tires of a lower load range than the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating requires.

If the trailer is loaded to the gross vehicle weight rating listed on the label for higher capacity tires, the tires may suddenly fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

Starcraft RV will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tires and the spare tire with new ST175.80R13D tires and issue a correct tire label, free of charge. The recall began on January 8, 2014. Customers may contact Starcraft at 1-800-945-4787 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
