Augusta RV is recalling 189 FLEX recreational vehicles because a door lock defect may jam the deadbolt, potentially trapping occupants inside the vehicle.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The recall involves a risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported, as the defect could trap occupants inside the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.

Plain-English summary

Augusta RV, LLC is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 FLEX recreational vehicles manufactured between February 13, 2013, and May 31, 2013. The recall involves 189 vehicles equipped with Fastec-brand door locks.

The defect may allow the key to be removed in a way that jams the deadbolt. If this occurs, the interior side of the door lock may also jam, preventing a person inside the travel trailer from exiting the vehicle without using the emergency exit. This situation increases the risk of injury.

Augusta RV will notify owners, and Fastec will coordinate the inspection and replacement of the cylinders, as needed, free of charge. The recall was expected to begin by early November 2013. Owners may contact Augusta RV at 1-574-848-0200 or Fastec at 1-800-837-2505.
