A parameter in the Electronic Service Analysis (ESA) tool was mistakenly switched to disable the start-in-gear protection feature. As a result, the vehicles may be started while the automatic transmission is in gear. If the vehicle is started while in gear, it may move unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
