The issue is a failure to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 102 regarding transmission shift lever sequence and starter interlock.
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the transmission control module free of charge. The recall began on April 3, 2013.
