Plain-English summary
American Suzuki Motor Corp. is recalling 2,830 model year 2007 Suzuki XL-7 vehicles. The recall affects vehicles originally sold or currently registered in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Texas that were manufactured between June 13, 2006, and December 22, 2006.
The defect involves a condition where the plastic supply or return port on the fuel pump module may crack. This cracking can cause a fuel leak. If fuel leakage occurs in the presence of an ignition source, it may result in a fire.
Dealers will replace the fuel pump module free of charge. An interim letter was mailed to owners on March 7, 2013. Owners may contact American Suzuki Customer Relations at 1-800-934-0934 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
